Ethan Hughes is a bird-obsessed writer who spends more time staring at the sky than watching where he’s walking (results have included at least three bruises and one very surprised lamppost). When he’s not reading scientific papers about eagle eyeballs, he’s explaining them to normal humans who don’t speak “biology.” Ethan firmly believes that if he stares hard enough at a distant speck, it will eventually turn into an eagle—and so far, he’s been right just often enough to keep trying.
